I am doing a bunch of Christmas sewing but can’t blog about any of it until I give the gifts! So today I’m showing a wall hanging that I made my sister for Christmas a couple years ago.
The trees are paper pieced and I made up my own simple pattern. I had fun picking out the green fabrics from the quilt store that is within walking distance of my sister’s house – Sew Inspired in Simsbury CT. This is a wonderful shop about 45 mins away from Hartford.
My daughter has been asking me to make her a wall hanging with only 3 trees done vertically. Maybe this Christmas I’ll get that done for her. Maybe!
Here is this one hanging at my sister’s last Christmas.
Addendum – I did make a smaller version for my daughter for Christmas 2012.

Very nice, Linda. I like the quilting.
Beautiful! How big is the smaller hanging you made for your daughter? I’d love to make one for my daughter who lives in a tiny flat and has no room for a tree.
Alex – I do not know for sure the size of this wallhanging since I gave it away and didn’t make notes about it. You could easily make one whatever size you think would be best for your daughter’s room. Draw out a tree pattern a size that you like, repeat it as many times as you like and then add borders to make it a pleasing size. Good luck!
Great job! May I ask..where did you get the star buttons? Making my list now for Christmas gifts 2019. Thank you for the idea…it’s perfect! Hugs, Pattie. email@example.com
I purchased yellow plastic buttons that look very similar to these at Joann Fabrics. My mother bought wooden ones that looked more rustic at Walmart-package says organic buttons.
